Louma Greenhouse, Devon. Built in UK grown Douglas Fir and UK grown Sweet Chestnut. The greenhouse will operate as part of a market garden, providing food for the accompanying restaurant. The greenhouse vents are hung on pivot hinges to maximise ventilation. Sweet chestnut on the exposed elements was chosen for its durability. An unusual feature on conventional greenhouses, The gable-end overhangs aid weather resistance. Design, fabrication and installation by Kennard brothers. Structural engineering from Cordeng. 2023

Bloomcliff flowers greenhouse, 2024. This 3/4 span greenhouse was designed around three salvaged cast iron tie beams. The structure is built in Accoya timber with aluminium rafter cappings. The sliding roof vents are operated via a winch and pulley system, while the low vents are on automatic wax openers.

Oaksey Greenhouse, Gloucestershire. Reclaimed victorian roof trusses and vent opening system were used to determine the pitch and proportions of this greenhouse. Curved cuts on the end of each pane of glass channel water away from the rafter cappings. Exposed timber elements are made with Accoya. Design fabrication and installation from Kennard brothers. 2021

Piggery extension, Gloucestershire. In collaboration with the client, we designed a glazed extension overlooking the deer farm opposite. The posts define the former pig sties, while the original railings were reinstated along the front. The frame is built in Welsh grown Douglas fir with Canadian Douglas fir used externally. 2022

Siberian Larch greenhouse, Dartmoor. We replaced an existing greenhouse like for like. Aluminium rafter cappings remove the need for maintenance on the roof. Heat sensitive openers control the ventilation of the greenhouse. 2020
